PR1: Needs Assessment and Creation of an Applied Creativity Lab Guide

1. Report on the needs related to safe cycling of each country involved in the project
2. Creation of a Guide (Applied Creativity Lab guide) to support teachers, educators and trainers in educating young people about road safety.

PR1 is divided into two phases, the first being a Report on the needs related to safe cycling (cycling accidents in the EU, road safety rules in European countries, and bicycle use among young Europeans) of each country involved in the project, based on collection of data and information through a survey. This report is the basis for the development of the project implementation, as it contains data on cycling and safety on the road and is used for the achievement of the subsequent project objectives.

Taking into account the needs report, the partners create a Guide on road safety, traffic rules, and regulations for cyclists in Europe, also adding an overview of the legislation of the partner countries, the benefits of cycling for human health, a list of useful equipment for safe cycling and in addition awareness raising and civic responsibility with regard to cycling. The guide is a useful and essential tool for teachers, trainers, and coordinators to teach young Europeans about road safety and cycling safety.

The main target group for this PR is teachers, educators, and trainers. Furthermore, it is aimed at all young Europeans and their families in all the countries involved in the project.

PR2: Creation of an online interactive platform

The second project result is the creation of an online e-learning platform with an interactive training course for teachers, trainers, and educators. The course is aimed at teaching how to carry out creative workshops and use innovative teaching methods to promote road safety and civic responsibility to cyclists and to learn about national, regional, and local legislation in all the countries involved in the project in order to teach young Europeans correct behaviour on the road.

In addition, there is a part dedicated only to students with interactive videos and self-assessment practices for self-assessment and self-awareness of civic responsibility towards cycling on the road.

The online course is aimed at all teachers and students involved in the project and belonging to different European contexts, and the course is also designed considering different age groups, from 12 to 17.

The different topics of the training course mostly concern the national legislation of Spain, Austria, Denmark, Norway, Bulgaria and North Macedonia, road safety regulations, practices to be observed in the EU member states and relevant examples related to cycling.

PR3: Report on impacts of the project

Towards the end of the project, a Report on its impact will be redacted in order to assess the quality of the project results and their real and immediate impact. The aim is to show the conditions of cyclists in Europe, with a focus on young Europeans who use bicycles, the rules of good conduct to be followed on European roads and in national contexts, an overview of related road accidents, the improvements for mental and physical health and the benefits of cycling in everyday life, and the benefits and positive impact of cycling on pollution.

PR3 also includes all feedback from teachers, educators and students who actively participated in the implementation of the project, in order to disseminate cycling and road safety to as many European countries as possible.
